"TAKTSHANG GOEMBA" - Paro. The most revered monastery in Bhutan - Tigers Nest Monastery" hangs on the granite cliffside. Guru Rinpoche flew to this monastery on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave for three months. Pilgrimage to Takshang is a lifelong dream for any Bhutanese.

"BRIDGE TO TAKTSHANG" - Paro. After a 3000 foot climb from the Paro valley floor, a final crossing over bridge and thundering waterfall leads to Taktshang - Tigers Nest Monastery.

"TINGSHA BELLS" - Bumthang, Jakar Zhong. Located in midlde Bhutan, Bumthang is a region of peaceful monasteries and pilgrims. These meditation bells known as Tingshas belong to the monks of Jakar Zhong.

"MASK" - Punakha. One of the Mask of the Terrifying deities at the Punakha Festival.

"SOLDIERS AND CHANG" - Punakha. Bhutanese Royal guards move a huge bronze vat during Punakha festival. Their determination is fueled by the fact that the vat will be filled with 'chang' or the local liquor for the following days festivities.

"WATER WHEEL" - Haa. Water wheels housed in pagodas throughout Bhutan. This large wheel housed on the right moves water through the middle hut that houses a wheat grinding wheel.

"Dochu La" - at 10,300 feet, Dochu La (Pass) is the site of a unique cluster of 108 chortens called Druk Wangyal built as a tribute to His Majesty the King Jigme Singye Wangchuk and is a sacred legacy of the nation.

"RICE FIELD" - In the tropical area of Punakha, terraced rice fields abound in the country side.
