On the back end, we made the mentor page its own container of pages rather than another page in "pages". The list of mentors is updated constantly and we needed to make the database maintenance an easy and accessible process. We did the same for the list of startup alumni.
We created taxonomy tags for blog posts to encourage post discovery. Prioritized placement of subscription field for visitor engagement.
The new Orange Fab program is constantly evolving and we anticipated the need to create new pages. We organized the different layout components throughout the website into editing blocks on the backend that can easily be re-created.
The strategy was to streamline the publication and teamwork process so that any non-technical/non-design team member can easily create new content with an automated visual standard.
